Very warm welcome, late at night, after a long drive. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything we needed (and more) was provided. The toiletries in the bathroom were particularly nice, and the waterfall shower was excellent. There was a Tunnocks tea-cake on the tea tray - what more can you ask for?? The cooked breakfast was substantial - it has to be preselected but I was able to specify all my little foibles (like cold beans, burnt toast) and it included haggis. There was also a selection of cereal and yoghurts. The location is perfect when travelling up the M74, close enough to the motorway that you aren't making a big detour, but far enough away that it is quiet. We would definitely stay again.

Alison, the host, was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble throughout my stay. I had a huge double bedroom with a couple of chairs to use, fridge, kettle, great hot shower & all the toiletries you need. The breakfast was lovely, freshly made fruit salad, choice of cereals & fruit juice and a great selection for a cooked breakfast. It's very refreshing to go somewhere so super dog friendly too with a resident pooch for mine to play with! There is an enclosed garden for peace of mind and ample parking behind the property. I will definitely look to go back as I used my stay on this occasion as a halfway stopover travelling further north.

We have stayed at The Village Inn a few times now. Alison as always the perfect host, always friendly and welcoming and happy to help. Accommodation is spotlessly clean, warm, comfortable and well furnished with good sized bedrooms. , Tea coffee biscuits water provided in the room and plenty of toiletries provided too. Breakfast is exceptional with plenty of choices including cereal, fruit, toast and full cooked breakfast, nothing is too much trouble. Parking is available in front of car park at the back of the building. I have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely be staying here again.

This was our second time staying here. Alison, the host, was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble. She recommended places to eat when we arrived, but offered for us to get a takeaway and use her facilities, which suited us perfectly after a very long drive. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. The place was very dog-friendly with the resident dog being so lovely and calm. The enclosed garden was perfect for dogs and easy to access. The breakfast was phenomenal! The whole stay was superb value for money and was ideal for a stop off on our way to Scotland.
